High economic times in Ontario hospitals is the biggest problem in hiring nurses. The provincial announcement to hire 9,000 permanent full time nurses has also been delayed. The Officials of Quinte Health Care declared that they are planning to stop the hiring of nurses, as the deficiency of $8 million has arisen over the past two years.
There are certain steps taken to control the deficiency with in 60 days to implement plan for balancing the budget. When the hiring of nurses freezes then only they can get success. Edwards also said that they have no idea whether it will be successful or not. Edwards, who teaches in the nursing program at Loyalist College and is often in Belleville hospital where her students undergo placements, said it will be hard for the hospital to come up with $8 million in savings without service cuts and hiring freezes.
